COMPETITIONS

Championship: The World's Largest Amateur Tournament
The Cup - The Cup is a team match play event. Regional qualifiers, leading up to finals.
The California Cup is a team match play event for California and Nevada Chapters and uses a Solheim Cup-type format during the competition.
The President's Cup is just for our chapter. Individual Match Play series played from July-Nov. Individuals are placed in brackets by index and play one match per month.

LA Chapter Event Cancellation Policy

Please consider events to be a "go" unless specifically cancelled via email. In the event of rain, golf courses hold us to our contract unless the golf course closes. Golf courses in SoCal rarely close due to rain.

Unfortunately, life sometimes gets in the way of golf.
  • If you cancel 10 or more calendar days prior to the event, a refund will be provided, less a handling fee of $5.
  • If you cancel less than 10 days prior to the event, there will be no refund, as by this time, we are contractually committed to the golf course.
  • You can get your money back by finding a replacement player and making direct arrangements with your replacement.
Finding your own Replacement Player
Events Committee will assist, but finding a replacement will be the responsibility of the player cancelling. We can assist by emailing you names of people on the waiting list. You may post on Facebook. If you find a replacement player, we ask you to make direct arrangements with each other to save on processing fees.

The Chapter Championship, National Events, Weekend Getaways, & other special events may be subject to other refund policies, and will be specified within the event notification.

Sponsorships

Sponsorships help us to fill this chapter with fun things for our members. We subsidize the Chapter Championship, Holiday Party & after events appetizers, just to name a few. We also raise money through opportunity drawings of donated gift items at special events. Please contact Wendy Michaels if you would like to become a sponsor or donate gifts to raise $'s. Members have donated iPads, Fitbit, wines, gift certificates -- whatever you think will generate ticket sales!

  1. Roger Dunn is also one of our premier sponsors. Both the WLA & NoHO stores have hosted special shopping days for us, and provide us with gift cards to use at events. Be sure to mention our club by name and use your discount! We want to let them know that we appreciate their support and that we're spending our $ there!
  2. Thank you to the following members for continued financial & significant donated gift sponsorships:
    • Carol Grosvenor
    • Barbara Trivison
